Things People Say
I could just kill someone. Oh wait, I can't say that. It might cause a TWP (typical white person) to hear it and think, "Hey I could just kill someone, too. I'll pack the Savage Model 110 into the old Ford F-100, and take out a nun or a mime or a local elected official."

Do all TWPs feel this way? A shining left-wing intellect informs us that they do: "And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." (Barack Obama, 6 April 2008)

The recent shooting in Tucson, AZ by looney-tune, nut-job, hate-hat Jared Lee Lughner has brought out the usual, anti-gun and anti-free speech suspects (though a few lefties like Jon Stewart and the gals from The View were having none of it, so hats off to them).

Who's to blame for the shooting? You might think it's Lughner. You could also blame his problem with The Bible, our monetary system, and his concern with mind control through grammar. But who's really to blame? The Right, of course: Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are the real fingers pulling the trigger. You see, speech can cause even a regular Joe like Lughner to wake up one morning and decide to kill people. But it's only speech from the Right. Speech like this from the Left has no affect on the unstable mind:

"That Scott down there that's running for governor of Florida. Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to put him against the wall and shoot him. He stole billions of dollars from the United States government and he's running for governor of Florida. He's a millionaire and a billionaire. He's no hero. He's a damn crook. It's just we don't prosecute big crooks." (Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Penn., October 2010)

No, violence is only incited by conservative speech, "I must tell you as a columnist who has covered politics in this state it was inevitable from my perspective. Because the right in Arizona -- and I'm speaking very broadly -- has been stoking the fires of heated anger and rage successfully in this state. And you know it's just stunning when you consider Congresswoman Giffords' positions on the issues. She is a centrist, she is a moderate. I don't know who the shooter is, have no idea who the shooter is, but what could possibly motivate an individual to be enraged against or to take down a moderate centrist? To me it just paints a picture of how off the mark the politics of this state has grown." (David Fitzsimmons of the Arizona Daily Star interviewed on CNN, 9 January 2011).

Gun Control
Jared Lee Loughner, a paranoid schizophrenia, used a Glock 19 to mow down 20 people, killing six, including one 9 year-old girl, at a Safeway on 14 January 2011.

And when tragedy strikes, you can be sure elected officials will jump into action and restrict the rights of those who didn't and don't break the law.

Here's the bad news. If someone has a gun and wants to kill you and is close enough to not miss, there's virtually nothing you can do about it. But most shooting don't happen that way. Very often, you have time for self-defense, and all you have to do is brandish a firearm to make a thug leave you alone.

(the Second Amendment Supporting Gabrielle Giffords supports a semi-auto AK-47)

Rep. Peter King (R, NY) wants to prohibit weapons within 1,000 feet of elected officials. Put yourself in an assassin's shoes. Would this, yet another in a long litany of gun restrictions make the assassin think, "Well, I'd like to shoot/stab/blow up some politicians, judges, etc., but that would be against the law, so I think I'll take up a hobby instead." Many schools are gun-free zones, which simply means that when you hear about a school shooting, no one at that school was allowed a gun to shoot back. "Gun-free zones" become "Kill boxes." Note that a hunting rifle has a greater range than 1,000 feet.

Then there's the tired: "magazines with fewer bullets" and a ban on "assault weapons." If you know anything about hand guns, you know how long it takes to drop a magazine out of a pistol and put in another one. Someone shows up at a shooting with a semi-auto and two magazines of 10 shots each, he can empty both in about 30 seconds. As for assault weapons, no one makes those. It's true. An AK-47 that can be sold in the US fires semi-auto (one bullet per trigger squeeze), not full automatic (bullets fire as long as the trigger is depressed). Any gun is, to be honest, capable of assaulting someone. So is a fist, a frying pan, a pool cue, and a Buick.

(Violence doesn't just occur in your local den of iniquity; art by Charles Copeland)

"We can't know for sure that this assassin was motivated by the toxic rhetoric that has gone on too long..if we continue to bring into the mainstream and treat as respectable those who call for violence and disruption and assassination and revolution and insurrection then whether that caused what happened in Tucson or not, it will cause the next tragedy." (Congressman and part-time psychiatrist and heart specialist Brad Sherman, Democratic Representative of San Fernando Valley, CA, Fox News 11 January 2011).

According to Mr. Sherman, it's only a matter of time before Sean Hannity pushes someone over the edge. And Rush Limbaught's ten million weekly listeners? Just ten million ticking time bombs, ticking down to mass murder (Limbaugh's been on the air for over 20 years, so it'll be any day now).

Of course, the politicians could have been doing their jobs within the context of the 2nd Amendment. Why does someone who is mentally ill have a gun, a concealed gun at that? Instead of the nation's schizophrenics being cared for so they don't harm themselves or others, they are free to roam the streets, not take their medication, and occasionally (fortunately, it's rare), go on a bloody rampage.

Map of Death
In case you missed Sarah Palin's Target map of politicians in the US she'd like to take out, I show it below. Look at all those unmistakable gun sites sprinkled across blue (aka "liberal") America. And look, there's another map showing actual targets in certain states. Why two maps? Because the other one was published by the Democrats in 2004 (courtesy Verum Serum). Oops. Didn't hear about that one? It's not like 2004 wasn't without it's share of mayhem

Jared Loughner, the Man, The Myth, The Legend (The Unstable)
The MSM bent itself into a pretzel trying to fit Loughner's shooting into a Right-Wing Inspired/Driven hit job. And just because they weren't successful, doesn't mean that won't keep trying.

The problem is that glue don't stick. Virtually every angle the media has tried has failed. Was it because Loughner was Jewish? Then why shoot Gabrielle Gifford, a Jew (they went to the same synagogue)? Did he hate conservative Republicans? Then why shoot a Democrat (Gifford). Did he hate moderate Democrats? Then why shoot a Republican appointed judge? Was it because Gifford spurned his advances? Turns out he was a homosexual. Was it because he was a closet Nazi? Or a closest Commie? He did own Mein Kampf and The Communist Manifesto. He also owned Peter Pan so was he a closet boy who wouldn't grow up? Was he another wacked out Bible thumper? Turns out he was an atheist who said, "I will not trust God" and had a Satanic shrine in his back yard.

Then it must have been Talk Radio -- even though, if he had a radio, he apparently never listened to it.
