Tea Party Push Back (from faux javaites)
When you have the truth on your side, argue the truth. When you don't have the truth on your side, argue motives, background, personality...even if you have to lie.
This is why the left demonizes the Tea Party as being not just all white (lacking diversity) but actually racist. Neither of these is true, but the left can't argue the truth side so it makes stuff up, even going so far as to create a Tea party Doppelgänger: "Americans are longing for an energetic, non-partisan, and solutions-oriented approach to political discourse and civic participation. (This) is a rare achievement of all three ideals." Sounds like the Tea Party, but it isn't. It's the Coffee Party, which was started as an answer to the Tea Party (all those white racists). But the Coffee Party is not non-partisan (it's founders are liberal, I'm sorry, uh-hem, "moderate"). It's also not "rare" since it's based on the Tea Party itself.
Does the Tea Party need an answer from the left or the middle? If you don't like the idea of smaller government, controlled spending, and, above all, adherence to the Constitution, then yes, there must be an alternative to the Tea Party. But I'm thinking that alternative is already in place in the guise of the Main Stream Media and Hollywood. Barry Secrest at Conservativefocus disects one example with: "Jon Stewart And Stephen Colbert Fight Back Against Tea Party: Staging Mock Rallies To 'Keep fear Alive.'"
Personally, I can see not liking Tea (I'm not a fan), but other than that, what's to oppose? The Coffee Party claims to be about *"The Middle" and says it is non-partisan. Perhaps that's the ultimate goal, but you can discover for yourself how true this is now by visiting the Facebook page. Reading the comments section, I have strong doubts.
The Tea Party is also not some shadow element of the Republican Party, as those who are not towing the line can get in hot water (and other cliches). Example: Conservatives react to Boehner’s unwillingness to pledge to ban earmarks" (Alex Pappas, The Daily Caller) Will the Coffee Party be so doctrinaire?
*Not the terrific ABC show, but that segment of America that is lukewarm, unfocused, easily swayed, and proud of its middleness.
